Movie Review: Extra Credit or Class Assignment
Students are required to write a movie review in a professional manner, which can be a challenge since they are used to just telling friends if they liked a movie or not! In this assignment, they must think more deeply and explain why thy like or dislike a film. They are to consider elements such as similar films, connections to movie trends, the director's prior work, casting suitability, etc.
I offer this as an extra credit assignment, but it could easily be changed to a regular assignment.

This worksheet provides an introduction to writing a strong introduction paragraph. It includes work on grabbing the reader's attention and stating a claim or thesis.
