Story Map/ Plot Diagram
This plot diagram is used with 2nd grade and above to organize the elements of a narrative text. The students identify the exposition, the main events leading up to the climax (rising action), the climax, the main events of the falling action and the resolution. The students also identify the author's purpose, point of view and theme of the story. Going through this organizer as a whole group has helped the kids to really develop a strong understanding of what is expected in these elements.
