I wanted them to have some experience of Shakespeare before leaving school, but the original text would have been far too challenging. Some of the scenes and speeches have been shortened. I've concentrated on keeping the best action so that the plot is not compromised. I've replaced the more difficult language with vocabulary that students don't struggle to understand.
