How To Write A Speech
My students are required to write a 4-H speech. This was my first time teaching a group how to write a speech. I created this flipchart to explain components of a speech along with a rubric.
The grading rubric is embedded into the flipchart. In the notes section on the final slide, the directions explain how to open the grading rubric. The grading rubric is open to change. You can change it to fit your requirements or needs for your students.

Daily Quick Write - writing prompts for upper elementary students

I use these "Quick Write" prompts with my students every morning as they arrive. It is a great way to get the day started because many students arrive at different times, but everyone knows exactly what to do each day. The expectation is that students are writing a paragraph.

Chinese vocabulary flipchart: greetings, names, ages, #s 1-10
1 page each of Chinese vocabulary with matching English translations are provided for the first unit of Discovering Chinese (lesson 1-3). Students can drag the English words to the matching Chinese characters. There is also a page with pictures that reveal the Chinese words once they are clicked. Characters are provided in simplified and traditional. As they get better, I set the timer and have the class race to complete all of the matches. Topics include: basic greetings, asking for names

This is a fun game I have played with kids to get their minds thinking. It would be great for a class reward party or indoor recess. Pick a letter and the team has to come up with a word in each category that begins with that letter. Depending on the age, you can change the time each round.
