Thanksgiving Syllable Sort
Kindergarten and first grade students will strengthen their phonemic awareness and syllabication skills as they celebrate Thanksgiving. Students color and cut out pictures of Thanksgiving item (such as a turkey and a pilgrim) and glue them into the correct column on the graph based on how many syllables the word has. Great for use in a literacy center.

The Terrific Turkey Thanksgiving Reader's Theater
This is a humorous Thanksgiving Reader's Theater I wrote for an RTI class. It is appropriate for grades 3-5. There are nine speaking parts and takes about 11 minutes to perform. Synopsis: Dad orders a turkey for the family Thanksgiving dinner. The fun begins when they go to pick it up and discover he has mistakenly ordered a live turkey!
