Line Up! Measurement Game
Line Up! is a simple game that allows students to practice their measuring skills. It also reinforces skills like estimating, addition, and cooperation.
Students can measure with any units you choose: inches, centimeters, or even paperclips! Use this game in math centers, as a free time activity, a review game, or as a lesson activity.
I recommend laminating the game page or placing it in a page protector and providing two different colored dry-erase markers for students to write with.

Quarter Inch Ruler
Learning measurement can be difficult, especially when your standard ruler has so many little lines! I created printable 6 inch rulers with lines for each quarter inch.
The first quarter inch is highlighted in yellow. The first inch has an indication for the 1/4 inch, half inch, and 3/4 inches.
Once basic measurement is understood, kids are ready for the whole thing!

English Linear Measurement Scavenger Hunt
Send your students on a home scavenger hunt! They will compare various lengths in inches and yards and find objects larger, smaller, or equal to the sizes stated on the worksheet. This assignment is open-ended, so there is no answer key. You can use this worksheet with multiple ages and abilities. Younger students can round to the nearest inch when measuring, and older students can measure to half inches or even a sixteenth of an inch!
