I started out as a Middle Childhood Education Major from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, specializing in the areas of Literacy and Mathematics. I then moved to Nashville and taught 5th grade (all subjects over the years, but my favorites were math, science, and social studies). Later, I went back and got my Master's Degree in Library Sciences and have been a middle school librarian since 2011.
I absolutely love nothing more than teaching and working with students. My goal is always to be as creative and hands-on as possible, and to make learning as authentic as possible. Of course, as a librarian, I love to incorporate literature, but I also have found the library to be a great place for things like math and science as well. I always have a classroom that is "controlled chaos," and in which we embrace our mistakes in order to better learn from them!
