Long i word sort i, ie, igh, y
This is a chart and sentence writing activity for long i words spelled with i, ie, igh and y. You can have the students complete a word hunt through their weekly reader or any book to find long i words then sort them into their appropriate column. After students find 5 words for each pattern they can then write one word from each column in a sentence. Read the sentences for fluency.
