Ellis Island Web Quest
This web quest tours Ellis Island. The link is embedded in the introductory page (hence the word doc). I just trialed it (March 2024) with my students for our module on immigration and they loved it. It took 3 35-minute sessions to complete with time at the end of the 3rd session to review responses. See attached sample page to get an idea.

Heat Wave Building Background Webquest
Before reading the story Heat Wave by Helen Ketteman, have students complete this building background web-quest to learn more about the setting of the story (Kansas) and about heat waves. The websites for the questions are included in the directions for the web-quest. Great way to tie in nonfiction reading with this fun fiction story! While completing the webquest the students will practice using the following reading strategies: questioning, making connections, and visualization.

In this self-paced assignment, or whole group presentation, students will explore how communities were first developed by the Indigenous Peoples, many years before Christopher Columbus' exploration.
