Huron Carol Orff Arrangement in Aeolian Mode
Considered Canada's first Christmas Carol, the melody of the Huron Carol is an excellent piece for introducing or reviewing aeolian mode on barred Orff instruments and for discussing early Canadian music and early Canadians. The melody can be easily sung or performed on a soprano/tenor recorder. The piece lends itself well to creative movement. Note that the title of the score says La Pentatonic. I's the B'y Orff Arrangement using I, IV, and V Chords
This is the traditional Newfoundland song "I's the B'y" arranged for Orff Instruments. Contains the words to the first verse and the refrain.
