Social Emotional Song for Students with ADHD - Focus!
Do you have a student that you're constantly reminding to stay focused? Does it spill over to home as well? This easy-to-sing-along to video is for students with ADHD that may find it difficult to focus on their teacher and their classwork. This song has a Gospel/Blues flavor with me playing on the piano. An ACHIEVEMENT Chant
This chant is how I begin class everyday. Not only is it a great way for the kids to get motivated for class (and teach them to spell the word achievement), but it's a great procedure for beginning a class.
We pat, pat (our desks), and clap, clap (our hands) in rhythm through the chant. The kids love it and so do I.
It's also a great way to raise motivation before a test or big assessment, as well!

Winners are Not Bullies
This is a song written to the tune of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. It is a song that explains what a bully is and that winners are not bullies. We sing this song at our school weekly, substituting our mascot (Broncos) in place of winners, thus becoming Broncos are not Bullies. You could do that for your school mascot also. This song is fun to sing and promotes respect.

The song was written as a fun listening exercise. The students need to focus on the directions and it gives them a chance to move their bodies. The song has been used from grades K-7 (however, the older students liked it for the novelty). With a discussion about the expectations, some clarification with some movements, and guidelines that fit your class, the song can break up a long day.
