It can be used as a performance piece for Black History Month assemblies, or, of course, any time of the year. The rhymes are in couplets, and the lines are simple - a letter, and then no more than 5 words for each line! This poem can be performed by students at any grade level. As a performance piece, it can be enhanced with costumes, movement, posters, etc., to bring forth the characterization.

FROM PIE TO PRESIDENT is a play for classroom use about the life and presidency of George Washington. Many of the lines are direct quotes from Washington, Mrs. Washington and other people from that time in our history. This is a great way to study Washington and invite the students to have fun acting out the parts. This is simple to produce in the classroom.
