Gravity Lab: Calculating Distance in Space
In this lab, students start by measuring how far they can jump on Earth, and then calculate how far they could jump on the different planets and Earth's moon, based on the amount of gravity present on each body. I have used it as an activity for physical science and phase changes. I have also just used it as a fun end-of-the-year activity.
I also included some activities that I have my students do while they are waiting to make their ice cream or waiting for other kids to finish their ice cream. I have the kids create their own ice cream flavor. This is easily turned in to a writing assignment.
