Kindergarten close reading games for Microsoft Word
Reading Game
This is a playful activity for early readers. Here the student can practice reading while they are playing and you can check his/her reading development. There are 3 sets of game and it can also be adapted to what you're teaching. The first set has only uppercase letters and words with short vowels and easy blending. The second set is just like the first one but in lowercase. And the third one has words with digraphs (TH, WH and SH). All games includes the word cards and the picture cards.

Setting Bingo is a blast with k-1 graders! This game can also be modified for special education students as well as ELL students who are learning english. The board consists of numerous characters. The teachers job is to pull the provided pictures one at a time so that if students have the corresponding character that goes with the picture (setting) selected then he/she can place a marker on the correct square. The first student to get five in a row wins!
