This tool can be used as a visual aid when doing a mystery Skype. Cross out the continents, countries and states as questions are answered. For example, if your Mystery Skype partners do not live on the west coast cross out all states on the west coast and see what is left. Continue until only one state is left. As English learners living in the USA, they find the practical aspect of this activity to be critical to their survival in the USA. The students have a chance to listen, check, review vocabulary, and then listen again for details. They will learn vocabulary terms such as: flashlight, tarp, jumper cables, first aid kit, flares, and much more.

This is a fun and culturally-meaningful research project on Spanish festivals for intermediate students of Spanish.
