TEACHING EXPERIENCE

About Us- Erin: I have taught second and third grade for 12 years. In the past I have been a looping teacher where I kept my same class for two years consecutively. I have had a total inclusion classroom where instruction has been differentiated to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners from special education to gifted education. Jordan: I was a second grade teacher for 3 years and I'm currently taking the year off to pursue my Masters of Education in Reading. I, too, had a total inclusion classroom and work in a district with a diverse population. I have a fresh perspective on teaching and continue to embrace ongoing professional development.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Students should be engaged in authentic, creative and meaningful lessons modified to fit a wide range of learning abilities and styles. We strive to create lessons that are engaging and unique but also impactful.  Students should be encouraged to work both independently and collaboratively, modeling real-world situations. It is important for students to recognize learning as an ongoing process, leading to not only academic growth but personal growth as well. We look for ways to encourage critical thinking opportunities in the classroom. Students are asked to analyze and apply new information to real world issues and situations. We believe in hands-on, project based learning where students are intrinsically motivated and engaged in the learning process.
