TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been a classroom teacher in Lutheran elementary schools for 15 years, with a good number of years at home doing the best kind of teaching -- staying home to raise our four kids. I am especially drawn to urban middle-schoolers ...... be still, my heart!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a firm believer that every human has been crafted by God with special gifts and abilities. That being said, I sadly note that too many our my students don't feel special or gifted, and have little confidence in their abilities. So, the breakfast time at school is used to help shore up the bottom tier of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. We chat, give hugs, and share the love!! I love projects, conversational lectures, and laughter, and without those in my classroom, I'd apply to be a ditch digger.
