What educators are saying

I took this skit and adapted it to fit our class. It is great as is, and it is easily adaptable for different sizes of classes. I added lines that fit my particular students. The trees wore green t-shirts, and we pinned on their "fruit". It was about ten minutes long, and my students enjoyed it.

Description

This humorous skit was initially performed by a class of 15 fifth graders. As it is written, there are parts for 4 narrators, five "trees," and 6 actors. Of course, parts can be combined or divided in order to accommodate your class size. The presentation took about 15 minutes.

The skit begins with a "kid" walking through an orchard. As Kid strolls along, each of the various trees try to get him to eat its fruit, but the "fruit" each tree bears is not consistent with the variety of tree it claims to be. The absurdity of the first part of the skit is followed by real-life situations in which a person might claim to be a Christian, but their actions don't match. Later, thanks to the Holy Spirit, their fruit matches their profession.
