I have taught for the last 10 years in a Special Day Class setting. It has been FANTASTIC and AMAZING and CRAZY and LIFE-ALTERING!!!!! I have taught everything from middle school down to KDG. I am currently a SDC teacher in a KDG, 1st, and 2nd grade class. I can honestly tell you they teach me just as much as I teach them. I love the amazing look on the kiddos face when they finally get something and hate the look of frustration when I don't teach something in a way that they comprehend.... it continues to push me to be a better teacher.
I am a very hands on teacher that is always looking for the best in my kiddos. I teach SDC students and although they have a difficult time learning, IT DOES NOT MEANT THEY CAN NOT LEARN!!! I feel that it is my mission to find a way to reach each and every one of my students so that they can become a part of our society at some point in their lives. They are amazing, young, talented, beautiful kiddos that deserve the chance to learn...just like every other student that you see on a school campus :)
Yet to be added
I graduated from UC DAVIS in 2003 with a major in human development and a minor in education (they didn't offer an education major :( ). I played water polo for over 10 years and I loved every moment of it. I also have a credential in special education, along with my multiple subjects cred. In addition, I have my autism certification, which is mighty handy since I have a majority of autistic beauties in my classroom....they are so much fun!!!!! They teach me just as much as I teach them!!!!
I recently accumulated KDG's in my classroom (they can be daunting if you don't know what to expect) ....as well as a husband at home (which can also be nerve racking) :) I love my life and am excited to see what the future hold for myself, hubby, kiddos, and doggie (Luna buna). I want to make a difference for the kiddos that I am responsible for every single day....and I hope some of the resources that I have created will help in your classroom as well!!!!
