Description

This is a jammed pack resource to help your kiddos learn about plane and solid shapes (2D &3D shapes). There are lots of different activities that are included to make sure your kiddos will learn about the different shapes that shape our lives . My students had so much fun with the different ‘fun’ activities that helped them master the different plane and solid shapes.

What’s Included???
-poster or student pages of both plane & solid shapes that are introduced. These pages are great because you can use them as a teacher master while the students follow along in their own ‘shapes’ book. These “posters” include the name of the shape, examples, the different amount of sides, vertices, faces, edges, etc. In addition, the students get to make their own examples for plane figures.
-templates for fun games that will help the students master both plane & solid shapes. I created a ‘memory’ game (matching game), along with “I have…who has?” games. B/W and colored templates are included for both plane and solid shapes.
-My favorite thing about this whole pack is that I can use the ‘memory’ game templates as flashcards for the students, as well as myself, to help master these shapes. I copy on construction paper or card stock and then laminate the teacher master and use these as a entry/exit quick assessment to see what I still need to teach. The students love using their own ‘flashcards’ during independent time or at home with parents!
-graphing and counting practice page for both plane and solid shapes.
-Sorting/ categorizing practice page for both plane and solid shapes.
-work page for students to show what they have mastered for each shape. Each page included the shape, the sides, vertices, face, and example of each shape. The students do such a great job of coming up with different examples in the classroom! I am amazed at what they can show by the end of this unit.
-Book covers for the student workbook that I make that goes along with this pack. I copy these on construction paper and then include most pages included in this pack so that the students have all the info in one place (posters or student pages for all shapes, graphing/counting page, sorting/categorizing page, work page of all different plane & solid figures.
-SHAPE MOSTER GLYPH!!!! My kiddos loved this activity! The students answer a questionnaire that will determine the different shapes that they use to create their own ‘SHAPE MONSTER’. Although they are simple to cut out and put together, this is one on my kiddos favorite activities at the end of the year because they are able to say all the different shapes and determine what they need to make their own glyph. I included all the different template that you need to crate your own ‘SHAPES MONSTER’ for your class (questionnaire, answer key, templates for all parts, and pictures of some of the ones I was able to create at home. I grab a pack of random colored construction paper and copy all the shapes to make the glyphs even more unique!
-All fonts, borders, shapes, and more are credited on the last page of the pack!
-please follow me on TPT or Teachers Notebook to find more activities to do with your kiddos in your classroom. (Free Falling in SDC)
-If you see any mistakes please feel free to let me know and I will fix them as soon as possible.
