***UPDATED (2/2/16)- I added all the pages for a walrus and updated graphics, fonts, and more vocabulary pages for all animals. I kept penguins in the pack as a good compare/contrast activity for the kiddos...plus they are super cute!***
This awesome pack includes lots of activities to help your kiddos learn about different Arctic animals in a fun and interactive way.
The students can do research and investigate arctic foxes, polar bears, caribous, walruses, and penguins. Although it requires a little more prep work on your end, creating an ‘Arctic animal book’ is a fun way for the students to have all their information in one place. In addition, they will love reading through it throughout the year. When I put together the book for the students, I include the –can-have-are page, labeling page, informative text page, the graphic organizer page, and all the “let’s define the word’ pages. I copy the front and back cover on construction paper and bind it so that it last longer.
The writing activities (or themed paper with the research report is hung up with the crafts that the kiddos create.)The crafts are a huge hit with the kiddos. I love that I hear them labeling the different body parts as they are being cutting out. All the crafts have templates that are ready to be copied and enjoyed. Because these crafts are larger, I usually have the kiddos pick one or two so that all the kids work can be displayed around the room. A picture is included to show what the crafts look like when they are completed.

*-can-have-are pages for each of the animals (colored & B&W)
*Graphic organizer for all animals (colored & B&W)
Informative text page that can be used to fill in the research writing activity or to create their own research paper. I included both to help differentiate instruction for all your lovely kiddos. (colored & B&W)
*Writing activity where students fill in the correct answers based off the informative text page that is included. Answer key and word bank page is also apart of the pack.
*Label the animal page for all animals included (answer key included)
“let’s define the word’ pages for vocabulary words that are in the informative text pages and writing activities (over 15 different vocabulary words defined. Each of these definition pages includes the definition, part of speech, syllables, color-trace-write the word,
putting the word in a sentence, and drawing a picture with the word.
*Templates for all five animal craft activities that can accompany the writing activities, research paper, or they can stand alone because they are so cute!
*ENJOY!
