TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught high school science for over 20 years. My bachelor's and master's degrees are in physics and I am a National Board Certified Teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to start with the basics and help my students build their way up to more complex ideas. We work with a Smartboard and dry erase boards as well as computers, sensors, and graphing programs. At the physical science level we construct most of our own labs. I've already started working with drafts of Next Generation Science Standards and I'm looking forward to using them in their final form.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned a B.S. in Physics from Iowa State University and a M.S. in Physics from Western Illinois University. I continue to learn every day, especially from my students as they challenge me with good questions and new points of view.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Ice cream made with liquid nitrogen is a favorite recipe for my classes!
