TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach high school visual art and graphic design classes. I have experience teaching kindergartners through 12th grade and students with a variety of different abilities and backgrounds. I truly enjoy sharing my love and knowledge of art to my young students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that we learn by doing and that all teachers are responsible for teaching real-world skills to students. I also believe that art can be an excellent interdisciplinary tool that involves reading, writing, science, mathematics, social studies, and foreign languages. What could be better than creating art and improving reading skills at the same time or drawing radial symmetry in a tile design and how to find the circumference of a circle? These are the things that visual art can teach.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My love of teaching started at a very young age. As the oldest of six children, I grew up making worksheets and playing "school". Little did I know that this is what I would be doing for a career!
