What educators are saying
I used this with acrylic painting and it was helpful for students when they were making their mandalas.
Description
The mandala color wheel is the perfect art lesson for teaching symmetry, radius, color mixing, tints, hues, & shades! Students can use acrylic paint, colored pencils, watercolors, and more to create their own unique mandala. Using the included printable template, creating a mandala is easy to learn! This project incorporates geometry lessons on symmetry & radius as well!
Take the confusion out of measuring a blank color wheel. Simply print the template (cardstock is recommended if using acrylic paint) for each student. Directions are included on each template. The template is offered as a .pdf or .docx if you want to edit. If you would like to make this a more challenging project or teach students a geometry concept, you could have students create their own blank color wheel.
Use the PowerPoint to introduce students to key topics including acrylic paint, brush care, and mandalas. Then, watch the 19-minute demo video as a class for each step of the project! You will see me create my own mandala color wheel from start to finish with tips, ideas, & advice. The .mp4 video is included and there is also a YouTube link for the video as back-up. View the video preview before purchasing!
This product also makes an excellent homeschool lesson on the use of color & color mixing!
