What educators are saying

I loved this. I liked how you have an actual color wheel at the end instead of a single sheet of paper. My students refer back to this throughout their projects.
This was a very engaging and useful lesson purchase!!! I loved it AND my students loved it. We used acrylic paint on cardstock paper. The students learned a lot and they display so nicely on the hallway bulletin board. Thanks TPT!!!

Description

Instead of a regular color wheel, make an advanced interactive color wheel! This is an excellent tool for helping high school or middle school students understand color and for subsequent projects involving mixing colors and choosing color schemes.

This product includes:
-Color wheel template
-Lesson Plan
-Rubric (fully editable to suit your standards)
-Examples of the color wheel for guidance
-A list of 4 additional resources to use with this lesson

Based on the popularity of my basic interactive color wheel, I have created an advanced interactive color wheel that expands on the learning of color by incorporating tints and shades. This color wheel is also larger than the basic interactive color wheel with a diameter of approximately 14".

Each color card is labeled with the name of the color, tint, hue, and shade, to help students remember the vocabulary associated with the element of color. The handout also includes the vocabulary associated with the project, including primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. The materials are inexpensive and the project can be completed in three 50-minute class periods! This is also a great project for kinesthetic and Special Ed learners.

Materials:
• Interactive color wheel handout template
• Brass brads or string
• Hole punch
• Scissors
• (Your choice of) markers, colored pencils, paint, etc.
