In this unit students will identify the characteristics of myths, legends, and folktales, apply thinking skills to reading, listening, and writing, and demonstrate knowledge of plots and major characters of myths, legends and folktales. Students work in cooperative groups to read Native American and Japanese myths and legends. They learn about trickster tales and the characteristics of them. Included is the unit test.
