Temperature Routine (Promethean Flipchart)
Engage students in the practice of meteorology by observing the weather each day. After students come in from recess, they can predict what the temperature is. Simply click on the icon to visit the National Weather Service site. Returning to the flipchart, a student can drag the gray bar to show the temperature for the given day and color code the bar using the paint bucket tool. At the end of the week, print out the page (in color if possible) and display along the ceiling in the classroom.

Protein Synthesis and mRNA Replication
This flipchart goes over the basics of protein synthesis. It contains a Venn Diagram of the differences between DNA and RNA, interactive slides to illustrate the production of mRNA and a diagram accompanied by a flow chart to illustrate the steps of protein synthesis. There is also a web link that illustrates the process of protein synthesis. The student handouts can be used as a foldable which gives a nice one page sheet for the notes. Counting and Shapes using Insects
This multipage flipchart for Pre-K/ Kindergarten uses various bugs and insects to practice counting and work with shapes. I have worksheets and other activities available to go with the flipchart. For a reading component, I highly recommend using the book, "The Big Book of Bugs" with 3D glasses. The students love using the glasses to look at the pictures and it ties in nicely with a science theme and math.

Protein Synthesis (Transcription and Translation) Manipulative
This flipchart demonstrates both transcription and translation for high school biology. The original strand of DNA is quite long (about 40 bases), but you can model as much or as little of it as you would like. The translation page allows you to match a tRNA to a codon and make a chain of amino acids.
I usually use this as I teach protein synthesis and as a review. It is often a 'lightbulb moment' for many of my students!
