Black Forest Cake Bake-off project
We baked Black Forest cakes in class after learning about the Black Forest region. I decided to make it a competition and a summative grade. Included are a brief outline of the project, a rubric to grade the project, an outline of the slides required, certificates to give to the winners, and a sheet for the judges.

This scoring rubric can easily be applied to any writing assignment for a World Language classroom. It adapts grading criteria used in Language Arts Common Core scoring rubrics to the skills generally assessed in second language learning writing assignments, including comprehension skills, grammar/vocabulary accuracy, quantity of information and ideas expressed and elaboration, details, etc.

Children's Book Project Rubric: La ciudad
For this project, students will write a children's book focused around places in the city. They will select a main character that must visit 10 locations. The students will then have to either describe the location or what the character is doing in that place. Ex: ¿Dónde está Waldo? Waldo está en el restaurante. Waldo come treinta hamburguesas. German Escape Room
This is an absolutely AMAZING project! Students create a shoebox German escape room for their classmates to solve! They first choose a theme for their escape room shoebox, such as the Holocaust, the Berlin Wall, etc. Then they create an escape room using questions and answers related to their theme. They can hide clues, numbers, and so much more in their room! We did this project with our 6th grade students in Exploratory Languages & Cultures, and they had a great time. It was overwhelming a

Create a village to finish the city unit - Slides and rubrik
To finish off the city unit, students are supposed to create their own village. Students were supposed to list buildings, and modes of transportation, and use directions to explain where things are located. Uploaded here is the rubric that was used to grade the project.
