Provide students with a rubric to evaluate pictures in four books. The second sheet allows students to come up with their own design for the Caldecott medal and list their choice for the winner.
Use this checklist to individually assess students' knowledge of the parts of a book.
Students will identify:
* Front cover
* Back cover
* Spine
* Title page
* Role of author
* Role of illustrator

This Powerpoint is intended for use with students after the Super 3 Research Steps have already been taught. (Check out my Super 3 Research Skills Smartboard lesson on my site)
This Powerpoint will guide students in doing a fairly simple digital research project on a topic using the steps of the Super 3. The template for the Powerpoint is ready for students and all they have to do is write their own text in as they do the research.
This Powerpoint template was created with younger students
I created these to use at school during special area classes. At the end of each class the teacher is given a rubric with a number circled 1-5 to show how the classes behavior was during class. This is great feedback for the classroom teacher.
This rubric will make library visits more purposeful, productive, and engaging for students. I would recommend maintaining a library log for your students. This information could be considered as usable data for parent conferences, ARDs, and more.
After teaching students different ways to alter test in Microsoft Word, this handout is used for assessment for students to show what they know about altering text. It is a word document so you can edit it to your liking. I have used it in grades K-8. It has a but in rubric.
