This is the generic version of project rubrics I‘ve used in different classes through the years - including reading, social studies, and science classes. Many teachers find it difficult to grade projects like these fairly. This rubric is designed to help students understand the parameters of the assignment and provide a handy assessment and grading tool for the teacher. The fun usually begins when you can see that the kids understand the material and can present it in a creative way.

The OREO Template has been used by teachers for quite some time to help kids organize their thoughts when writing an opinion paragraph. This is a writing quiz I’ve used for years in several different subjects. It has a built in grading rubric so kids can see exactly what’s expected of them as they work. There is also teacher flexibility built into the rubric. You can give a score for each category between 0-18 or 0-10 points.Is the paragraph on topic? Does it make sense? Did you begin every sentence with a capital letter? Did you end every sentence with the correct end mark? Are you using your best handwriting?
