PowerPoint for Writing Choose and Do Substitute Plan
This is a PowerPoint I designed for students to "Choose and Do" writing activities. I have left this for emergency sub plans and it has worked really well.
The idea is that students watch the PowerPoint and "Choose" three of the writing tasks (12 to choose from!) and complete them by the end of class. There are a variety of topics ranging from persuasive topics to reflecting on quotes.
You will probably have tons of great ideas for ways to use "Choose and Do" in your classroom.

Creepy Facts with Writing Prompts

Writing prompt powerpoints
I have 30 writing prompts on power point, which would be 6 weeks of school. Have the students use their journals or paper and they can begin writing. Have them write for ten to twenty minutes on each prompt.

Daily Writing Prompts - Warm-Ups
Use these daily writing prompts (aka warm-ups) as needed. There are two introductory activities for the start of school, a your choice slide to use when needed (when you are absent), and seven holiday slides. However, the bulk of these warm-ups are simple questions on a wide range of things. Some of them are controversial. So, be careful of classroom discussions if you choose to do them. You can have them submit these after a certain number to maintain a daily grade for the daily writing prompts

The Write Time: 70 Creative Journal Prompts for Developing Critical Thinkers
