Writer's Resources BUNDLE WITH EXTRAS: posters + handouts for a writer's corner
These handouts and posters combine to form my Writer’s Resources board. This 4’ x 4’ bulletin board is in the corner of my room, and kids are welcome to use any of the writing aids at any time – for any assignment. The materials range from a visual on how to format the heading on an MLA paper to a graphic organizer for argument writing.

This is a unit to teach the book The Education of Margot Sanchez by Lilliam Rivera. This is a book about a young Puerto Rican girl from Riverdale who is forced to work in her parents supermarket over the summer in the South Bronx. This is a great and easy read for ELLs who may be able to connect with the Hispanic protagonist, but would work for all students! The Joy Luck Club: Chapters 5-8 Close Reads [Distance Learning]
These individual chapter close reads focus on section 2 of the novel, "The Twenty Six Malignant Gates" which contains chapters 5-8. (It also includes short close read on the short introduction.) The close reads focus on character development, quote analysis, theme, as well as comprehension. The Google Doc allows for students to type their answers directly on the page!
