Canada has a long history of breaking promises with Indigenous people. In autumn 2020, the Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia saw their livelihoods as lobster fishermen under attack in violation of Treaty 1752. This lesson plan will allow students to understand the historical and modern day importance of Canada’s Indigenous treaties.
