Statement Cards: A behavior intervention
Statement cards are a great behavior strategy to make a statement in your classroom without saying anything. Many times when we verbalize with students who are misbehaving, we become more frustrated and get caught in a power struggle. These statement cards are used to convey a message without creating a verbal disruption. Instead of verbalizing the statement, simply place the card of the students desk and continue with instruction.

Make an Appointment: Behavior Intervention
When students are being loud or disruptive in class, you need to give them the message that they are not in control of your classroom and that there is a more appropriate time to address the issue. If you do not want to stop instruction, then you can use appointment cards to formalize the process.
Let students know that you want to talk about the issue, but not at that moment and they can make an appointment to talk with you at a designated time. This can be especially helpful for students

My behavior modification card allows a student to track daily his behavior goals by receiving either a Yes or No if he reached his or her goal. Teachers can send this card home daily to receive a signature from parents and save them as evidence that all parties are working together to re-mediate a students negative behavior.
