This activity investigates the relationship between heart rate and exercise and students write a CER argument to explain this relationship. This can be used to teach about the circulatory system, cellular respiration, exercise and health, and homeostasis of the body. Students take their resting heart rate and then do 1 minute of exercise and measure their heart rate again.
