This speech analysis discussion guide highlights the rhetorical devices used by King with margin annotations and correlating color coded lines underlined in the text. I use this key to show the students, "How did the author say it?" (a common core step when doing close and critical reading). Start Your Own School Newspaper and Newspaper Club
Starting your own school newspaper isn't difficult. I've run (and created) our school newspaper for three years. This document has most of the materials you'll need for set-up. The newspaper club in my school was open to fifth grade students and printed copies were distributed in the school to faulty, staff, classroom libraries, school common areas, and to the newspaper club members. Our newspaper is usually 12 pages long and we use Microsoft Publisher to create it.

This is a compilation of four homework activities for kids who struggle with tongue-jaw dissociation, or the ability to move their tongue separately from their jaw. This can be at the root of many articulation errors, especially the most common sound errors found in the school system, such as /r/, /l/, /s/, /z/, and /th/.
