Preschool Language Scale-5 Fully Clickable Scoring Form (**can not be used in place of the PLS-5 official protocol**)

As an SLP, I often use the PLS-5 as a criterion referenced measure for students who are outside of the normed ranges, but developmentally delayed. It provides a wealth of qualitative information on the students specific strengths and weaknesses. For this, I needed an easy way to show how the child did on, not only the test questions, but on each of the skills/concepts WITHIN each test question. (i.e. Which specific vocabulary pictures could the child identify? Which could they not identify? Which of the trialed prepositions did the child know. Which did they not know?).

On the students that I use the PLS-5 on which are in the normed ranges, I still like to provide qualitative information within my report to help parents and providers understand the child's specific strengths and weaknesses, and to help choose specific goals. Providing a parent with a standard score, while helpful to know how their child is performing in comparison to other children, does not truly help them understand what their child can and cannot do. That is why providing qualitative information is so important.
