Bakery Bust!- An Equivalent Fraction Mastery Project
What is a mastery project? I use mastery projects for every standard in math. This is an option I have for students to show they have mastered a standard by using a skill in a real world scenario!
This project allows students to use equivalent fractions to solve a baking problem!
Fraction Pizza Project (Distance Learning/ E learning)
Pizza Math Project that includes: Creating fractions, comparing fractions, fraction word problems, creating word problems, elapsed time, telling time and graphing!If your students find themselves ordering take out pizza during this time have them keep the box and do the project with it! In these activities, children learn about, and with, apples. Thematic learning helps support deeper understanding when students can make connections. They read about apples, using a list of apple books supplied here. They learn about fractions and number lines using apples, with the lessons provided here. Baking with Fractions
I created this packet to help my students find and work with fractions "in the real world." Following a recipe of their choice, students can use this packet to record the fractions they've worked with, find equivalent fractions, as well as subtract and add fractions with both common and unlike denominators. The bolded "Quick Exploration" statement are used to indicate to the educator when instruction with the concept may be needed.
