6 Weeks of “A Math Problem a Day”:
~Based on different third grade CCSS. Rubrics included for each week to grade student work on Exceeds, meeting, needs with standard provided for assessment, instruction and further teaching, standards based reporting. Weekly Seesaw Links to post for children to do it electronically Standard alignment for each activity for easy access Printable for Use in classroom as well! Can't wait to use this in my in person classroom but this will be great virtually as the srtudents have space to work and I can grade it right then and there and track their progress!!
Week of Math Vocabulary Activities/Games:
COMPLETELY Editable-can use literacy, math, science, social studies etc. vocab words. Seesaw link provided for exact example in the PPT. In this file you will see 10 3rd grade math academic vocabulary words chosen for students to work on for the week. The students will be looking up dictionary definitions of 10 targeted tier 2 and tier 3 academic vocabulary words a week. Day 1: Look up the words in a child’s dictionary Day 2: Write down the word, in a sentence and draw a picture/example of each word Day 3: Students create an at home concentration game to play Day 4: Traschcan Basketball with word problems with vocabulary words Day 5: Play Catch phrase with a friend or family member at home in person or via facetime
Pizza Fraction Project:
Creating fractions, comparing fractions, fraction word problems, creating word problems, elapsed time, telling time and graphing! If your students find themselves ordering take out pizza during this time have them keep the box and do the project with it! Makes it more realistic and definitely more engaging and fun! I have chosen standards we have worked on in Bridges math in 3rd grade so far that encompass a bunch of different skills. There is an embedded Seessaw link if you would like your students to do it all online on their seesaw account OR you can print it for parents for them to pick up at your school OR email it to them to print at home for their child to do. Lots of options! It also includes a link for easy little pizzas the kids could potentially make at home to incorporate fractions in the real form! Also there is a rubric at the end for grading!

To be played in the classroom projected OR via video chats with students during distance learning. Directions on how to play included!Math review including questions about area, perimeter, adding, subtracting, elapsed time, telling time to the minute, multiplication word problems, arrays, comparing fractions!!Have your students take their own score if they get the question right and celebrate the top winners at the end!!*Includes timer on each slide
Shopping Trip Project:
Students will be taken through a week of fun making a shopping list and finding prices on Walmart’s site, adding and subtraction problems, word problems, multiplication and division word problems, elapsed time and graphing from data found on a picture graph!
