The First Red Scare "Dot" Game

Then they must go around and try to figure out which of their classmates are "communists" or red dot cardholders. The goal of the game is for the red dot "communists" to sneak into a group of black dots. To add tension and heighten suspicions I would go around

This page models a Facebook newsfeed as if it was the profile of the Soviet Union around the time of its breakup into independent republics as the Communist government fell. The comments, groups, photo albums and even relationship status' reflect the real political situation of the time. It would be a great addition to the wall of any class covering the Cold War or current geopolitical events.

Understanding why a date in the 1800s is called the 19th century or why our current century is called the 21st century is confusing for my students. I created this poster in Microsoft Publisher to help my student see the pattern. I started with the first two centuries before jumping to more recent ones. I also included examples of some dates and their corresponding centuries. I left this as a Publisher document rather then a PDF so that a teacher could keep updating the current year. If you n
