Science - Speed, Velocity, & Acceleration

Created by
Shawn Ackley
This is a physics flipchart teaching kids about speed, velocity, and acceleration. It includes many short YouTube videos to help explain the concept. I used it in my 6th grade class, but this would certainly help students from 4th grade all the way up to 8th grade understand the concepts. It is a 3 or a 4 day flipchart (for middle school) depending on your speed of teaching. PLEASE read the notes, as they will help you figure out what I was going for with each flip page. Enjoy!

This is a flipchart teaching Newton's 3 Laws of Motion. It goes through each law with a definition and several real-world examples. I have also included the blank capture sheet for the kids to take notes as well as the key to print out for students who need it. These are a separate file, but they are $1. I've reduced the flipchart by a $1 so the hand-outs are technically free... Pick those up to make this flipchart even better! Please check the flipchart notes!! They are your guide to ever

Newton's Laws and Motion

This is the flipchart I use to teach newton's laws and graphing motion to my 8th graders. I use this along with NASA's stomp rocket lab to teach about aerodynamics, force, motion, and acceleration. I also utilize motion sensors in order to begin teaching motion at the beginning of class. It covers objectives: INQUIRY 1. Draw conclusions from scientific investigations including controlled experiments. a. Design, conduct, and analyze conclusions from an investigation that includes using experi

Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram for Promethean Systems H-R Diagram

Included in this file is a four page flipchart that covers the basics of the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram. Each page has notes regarding the action objects. The last page includes an activity for students to do at the board - drag and drop different letters to correspond to the key. Objects will snap back if not placed in the correct position.

Flip-chart Introduction to Projectiles

Created by
U2 Physics
This is a teacher guided presentation to introduce projectiles motion. In this flip chart, students will learn that projectiles move with constant velocity on the horizontal direction, and free fall on the vertical direction. Students will see practice examples and diagrams to illustrate the concepts, and learn how to solve simple problems involving horizontally launched projectiles. a link to demonstration videos from other sources are included.
