Kinematics - Constant Speed Lab

Created by
Fudge Factors
This is a 2 page low-tech lab for an academic level introductory physics or physical science that focuses on the relationship between distance covered and time traveled for an object moving at (nearly) constant velocity. It includes data table, graphing, and analysis questions. Ideally, it should be used after the students have worked through my other worksheets on graphing as some of the analysis questions depend on their understanding of slope = velocity for a distance vs time graph.Update '

Electric Fan Car

STEM!! Apply knowledge of electrical circuits to Newton's Laws of Motion. Groups of 2-3 students will build an electric, fan powered toy car. The project is divided into specific days and tasks for each day. Throughout the project, students will run their cars and calculate the speed (ft/s). At the end, students will race their cars and collect data for EVERY car in class. To complete the project, students will see if there is a correlation between mass, length, etc with the speed of the car.

This bundle includes all of my graphing activities and problem sets. The focus of each of these activities is two-fold:1) Plotting points correctly2) Understanding the meaningMost of these activities are paper-and-pencil only. "Graphing Real World Data" starts with a hands-on class activity of timing a bowling ball's roll across the room to show students a concrete example of an object moving and then constructing a graph from the motion to teach the students that a line diagonally upward on the

Intro to Measurement STEM Interdisciplinary Lesson (Meter, Gram, and Liter)

Created by
Evelina's
This is an introduction to measurement. It provides students with an exploration of activities they can use to get familiar with measurement. It includes a meter tape measure, some measuring labs, assessments, graphic organizers, and an Interdisciplinary STEM Challenge with a focus on all 8th grade standards across the curriculum. It has a getting started page for teachers. This resource is great for students to begin measurement. I really hope you enjoy! It is well worth it!

STEM/NGSS: Multiple Representations of Density Exercise #1

Students are given information about a sample of matter in one modality and are asked to represent that sample in another modality.Modalities: model, equation, expression (19.3 g/cm^3), data table of mass and volume values, graphGreat activity for engaging higher DoK levels, and generating robust understanding of the density principle.Activity is followed by part 2.
