A Greek or Latin Root is Worth 1,000 Words

This is my absolute favorite way to introduce a year-long study of Greek and Latin roots! Students need to know your why and "buy in." What better way than to get them hooked into solving a puzzle! Present the incredibly LONG word in this slide show, and students will be competing to figure it out! With clear motivation and a game-like presentation, your students will be much more motivated to study etymology! You can find out more about how I used this in my class, HERE.If you're looking for re

This is a power point designed to help students with SAT level vocabulary. Each slide contains an SAT level word with its definition and the part of speech. It is set up so one new word is reviewed and taught each day for a nine week period. This allows you to incorporate vocabulary every day. It only takes a few minutes to discuss and review each word. This can also be used with GATE students in order to enrich lessons.
