Football Feat mini-math project
This mini math project will help students explore adding numbers to 100. It is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, and also provides an opportunity for students to practice the Habits of Mind (Thinking Flexibly and Persisting). I've used this with first grade Gifted students as an extension to the regular math curriculum.

Number Series #2 with an Abacus
These are more difficult patterns using an abacus. If your student has not done set #1 I highly recommend you start with the easy ones. This set has skip counting by two, AABB, ABC, AABAA patterns as well as 2 patterns happening within the same problem. These are a lot of fun for my students once they understand how they work. It would be an excellent challenge for a student who is bored with the typical patterns practiced in the classroom.
