I create this lesson for my junior English class after viewing MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM on Netflix together. I found the script for the film and copied the two monologues into the lesson. This lesson is to assist your students in understanding how language can inform as to background, subliminal intent, educational background, and character.
