Visual Art Report Card Comments
I have been teaching for 20+ years and these are my go-to Visual Art comments! I have included comments for first, second and final term. I teach at the grade 3 / 4 level but have used these for grades 2 – 5.
The comments focus on “strengths”, “challenges” and “next steps”.
The comments are already in paragraph format and are written in “word” so are easily adaptable and editable.

This is a second version of an Art Syllabi that I have posted on my account. This one includes NEW management in the art room.. including rewards, discipline, rules, etc. Both Syllabuses are great!
At the beginning of the year, each class looks over the material on this paper. I have them keep it as a reference throughout the year. Parents receive a copy as well.

Cheerio Inspired Snack Mat - Pac Man Inspired

Daily Drawing: Art Element of Space
This is one of a series in the Elements of Art for a daily drawing resource. I use this for Bell work- so the students have an immediate focus when they come in, and can connect our Bell work to our studio projects. I make these for the week, and that way, each student is able to keep their work in their supply package, and use the same paper all week, completing one small sketch a day.

Ancient Egypt: Create a Snakes and Ladders Game
A fun activity that requires students to draw on their knowledge of the ancient religion and beliefs. Their task is to choose an ancient religion that has been studies in class. They then will need to brainstorm ‘snakes’ (negatives) associated with their chosen religion and then brainstorm ‘ladders’ (positives) associated with their religion. They can then design and create their own board game!
