This item is a Smart Board resource for the Writer’s Workshop and Units of Teaching Writing Grades 3-5 on leads for Narrative text. The smart Board document shows different types of leads and includes the picture of the book and the lead. Many students rush through their writing, telling the story without detail. This Smartboard lesson will allow the teacher to compare and contrast weak writing and strong writing through the lens of "Show, Not Tell." It will help students use descriptive writing, resulting in better stories. This will work well as a great mini-lesson in writing.
