The Writing Process Prezi, NO PREP!
In all my years teaching English, it has become more and more apparent that students need to be told that writing is a process and each stage is equally important. Otherwise, students will simply draft a piece of text, read it over once if we’re lucky, and call it good. I have created for you a lesson that explicitly teaches students each stage of the writing process...and, because some find the topic exceedingly dull, I’ve given the lesson a horror genre slant to keep students highly engaged.

Poetry Digital Portfolio and Scoring Rubric
This is a favorite student project! Students will take their original poetry and create a digital portfolio on PowerPoint that includes graphics that go along with the poem and music. A scoring rubric for the project is included. Completed portfolios are presented to the class.
***I broke up the poem into separate slides. Each slide should have a stanza or few lines with a single idea so that the graphic matches that idea. Students can add or delete slides if necessary.

Royal Plagiarism I: Melania Trump “borrows” from Michelle Obama
Animated GIF shows that corresponding parts of their convention speeches are nearly identical. Slowly successive frames highlight the similar words and phrases, showing both direct and mosaic plagiarism.
