社會科所使用的文字與用語在孩子的生活中很難能夠遇到,他們的生活用語很少使用社會科的語言,因此,在閱讀社會科的時候,除了課文所傳達的知識必須要理解,對於社會科所使用的語法與文字更有理解的困難。本教材將五年級的社會科列舉一些題目,讓孩子畫出段落文章想要傳達的意思,傳達給孩子有些社會科的文字是在描述一個地理的位置或一個樣貌,讓孩子未來看文字知道可以輔佐圖形理解,或者在看文字的時候腦中有地圖,而不是死背文章。有些社會科的文章會將可以條列式的條件,寫成一整個段落,孩子其實很難理解一整串的段落可以變成條列式來理解,因此本教材還將一些可以條列式的段落列出,希望由孩子改寫或者是剪貼成條列式的問答題,未來在劃重點的時候就能自己劃出條列式文意。
