Kathryn Anne Porter is an often over looked modernist writer. She is a great addition to any course seeking to include female authors within the modernist era. Her novella Pale Horse, Pale Rider is a very relevant piece about the influenza pandemic that can be connected to Covid outbreak, or connected to other pathography narratives such as the non-fiction Memories of a Catholic Girlhood by Mary McCarthy. This work would also pair well with the poetry collection called Kyrie by Ellen Bryant Voig
